The AN/PVS-14 Multipurpose Night Vision Device features:
- Light weight construction
- Objective & eyepiece assemblies which allow the attachment of accessories & the head/helmet mount adaptor is identical to the AN/PVS-7BD.
- Built-in powerful Infrared Illuminator
- A weapon mount adaptor is also available to mount the system on the M16/M4 Picatinny style rail.
- Scope comes with the low profile standard US Weaver type of mount and weaver rail for easy mounting
- Very light, small and reliable
Many NATO countries have adopted the AN/PVS-14 as their standard night vision device. It is a self-contained system operating on two “AA batteries and features manual gain control for various brightness conditions.
A red low-battery indicator appears in the eyepiece when battery replacement is required. The system also features an active projected IR LED for short range Infrared Illumination for applications such as map reading.
For weapon mounting, an adaptor is screwed into the system body that locks onto the weapon rail with a turn-key knob. The PVS-14 can be placed behind a red dot collimated sight for use as a night vision aid for target acquisition. The 3X magnifier is usually added in this configuration and increases the visual range of engagement.
Numerous optional accessories allow customisation to the end-users requirements.
